We travel not to escape life but for life not to escape us - New Zealand Journey

  BLOG POST 1

Travel is my passion. I always love to travel to new places and have a habit of looking up facts about them. I try to go prepared about weather conditions, various tourist attractions, cuisine to be tried out, shopping etc. I love to write about places visited,so as to share experiences with all and inspire people to travel equipped with knowledge about them.  Before I get down to the brass tracks, here are some facts about myself that very few people know.
I was born on 29th June 1959. I was a first born and it was a home delivery and my grandfather Sri Pala Muddu Krishnaiah was a famous business man in Madras (now Chennai).  The obstetrician Dr Kalavathi was quite upset about me,a breech baby and quite tiny!
While having her meal at home, she was discussing about me with her mother. She was quite concerned - wondering whether I would survive. Her old grandmother who was lying on her bed suddenly spoke from the corner of the room, in a low haunting voice “don’t worry about that baby, she is going to survive, become a famous doctor and is going to tour the entire world”.
This tale was quite often repeated by my mother, which inspired me to study well and excel in academics. Leaving aside the famous doctor part, I would really love to travel the world all over before I die, a fact which I know is next to impossible, but I will definitely try to do, to achieve my dream as much as possible. As the saying goes “Yeh dil maange more, Aha”.
I am lucky to have a life partner who though not very fond of travelling, developed the travel bug and accompanies me in my travel and enjoys the tours, immensely. We have been to many famous places in India and abroad. I have written travelogues which have been published in many leading newspapers and magazines in Telugu. But now,I have decided to pen my thoughts through a blog in English for my friends and relatives who are more familiar and conversant in the English language. The blog posts will initially be of my travel experiences in New Zealand, recently visited , a lovely country worth visiting by all. My dream is to make the post so vivid that you can all see the places through my eyes and book a flight to experience it all by yourself
